New Computers

January 21, 2006

Hey.

So it’s been quite a while since I’ve posted anything. Truth is, Jess and I haven’t been up to a whole lot since the holidays. We havn’t done any noteworthy work on the house or anything like that. The one thing that we do have going on is that we got a pair of new computers. We were due. My PC was one that I built in early 2001 during my senior year of college. It was really showing signs of age. Jessie’s computer, it was taking arthritis pills daily. It was built in 1999, before she and I even met. Because of this, we felt it was time for new computers. So I shuffled some credit around, lowered my interest rates, and went to NewEgg to start picking the pieces that would become our new computers. I wanted computers that would last a long time, so I went with components one-notch below top of the line. (Top of the line components are outrageously priced; One notch below costs significantly less, and the performance different doesn’t justify the boost in price.)

With these new computers, built to last, comes a nice benefit – we can play all the latest games on the highest settings! So, for your drooling pleasure, here are a ton of screenshots from Quake 4, a great new game that came free with the video card I put into each of the computers.
