It had six cabinets, total!

The linoleum was glued too well...

...so we took out the whole floor!

For a while, our sink was
a stationary tub on bricks.

The beautiful cabinets are
the handywork of Jessie's dad.

We plan to replace this door soon.

Ryan taught us how to lay tile.

Grouting sucks.

Saber helped.
Doggies are good helpers.

The first color we chose,
"Gray Beige," was too drab.

So we decided to repaint it a brighter color.

Lots of scraping to remove the gray-beige
that didn't adhere properly.

First coat of primer after the deglossing.

Holy crap! I hope it's not gonna
be this bright when it's done!

This is after three or four coats.
It took six coats and a whole week
to complete a single room repainting.
Moral: Don't paint red unless you have the time!

When it was all said and done, we all
agreed that "Autumn Maple" was a
good choice for the color.
It looks quite good in person.
